So we started our trip to Greece. And the first spot was Paralia Katerini.
Spot #1 Paralia Katerini
Finally after the long way to Greece we reached our destination. Three countries were ridden past: Hungary, Serbia, Makedonia and early in the morning we arrived to Paralia Katerini – a tourist seaside village which is the capital of Greece region Pieria.
Actually Paralia Katerini is a real tourists place with lots of hotels, bars and beaches. It’s nice for those who plan a beach vacation. There are hotels with breakfast or dinner included but if you prefer sea food and traditional cuisine there are a lot of bars or free-and-easies to eat there.

Small buildings, a lot of tourists, low prices, fur shops that’s about Paralia Katerini.

As the weather was cloudy we decided to find some adventures beyond the seaside and we came across Aliakmonas National Park. It is amongst the most important wetland systems both in Greece and throughout Europe! Beginning just 10 kilometres south-west of the city of Thessaloniki, the park extends as far as Pieria, an area of 38,800 hectares. It offers great opportunities for walking, bird-watching, photography or simply for getting away from the noise of the city.

The next day we went to Meteora - a formation of immense monolithic pillars and hills like huge rounded boulders which dominate the local area. Breathtaking views and the atmosphere of Meteora takes you far away from the Earth.

Straight after visiting Meteora we headed for the birthplace of Greek goddess Aphrodite and the suicide site of Sappho - Lefkada Island. Read about our crazy adventures on Lefkada soon in my next article...
